On Thursday 11 June in Hong Kong, New Zealand independent PR firm, One Plus One Communications, was recognised as the best boutique PR firm in Asia Pacific, as judged by international industry peers.
This is the second year in a row the Kiwi business has received this international recognition, and follows the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand naming One Plus One the best large PR agency in New Zealand for the third year running, just last week.
One Plus One Partner, Liz Holt, was in Hong Kong to receive the award.
“It’s such a great feeling to have our business benchmarked internationally, particularly in a vast and diverse market like Asia-Pacific, and see that we’re right up there with the best,” says Holt.
The recognition follows another strong year for the firm, which saw a series of new business wins along with highly impactful work delivered for a variety of important clients.
One Plus One Managing Director, Kelly Bennett, says New Zealand has always been a competitive and innovative market, and that Kiwi firms can foot it with the best in the world.
“In a global agency market where there’s been a huge amount of multinational consolidation and restructuring, there’s a growing appreciation for independent and boutique offerings; the ability to move quickly, apply insight, creativity and ambition with real energy – these qualities are more valued than ever.”
One Plus One was established in 2013 in Auckland, and earlier this year established an offering in Wellington under the leadership of Government Relations Director, Esther Robinson.
