Sustainability

In the businesses of communication, reputation is built from the stories you tell, but credibility comes from what you do.

We apply that same thinking to sustainability. We believe small, conscious actions can create real and lasting impact when they’re part of how you operate.

We take practical steps that add up. Our central Parnell location is well-connected to main public transport lines, cycleways, and close to both the train and motorway, giving our team multiple ways to commute while reducing our carbon footprint. We back that up with public transport subsidies for all employees through Extraordinary Pay, bike storage, and the example set by our Founder and Managing Director, who cycles in daily. We also work remotely two days a week which reduces emissions and gives our people flexibility and balance.

Inside the office, we keep things simple. No printing unless it’s essential, reusable coffee mugs to discourage waste, and a coffee machine so we can skip the disposables altogether. We subscribe to Wonky Box for our weekly fruit delivery, supporting local growers and cutting food waste by using produce that would otherwise be thrown away.
We monitor our emissions, and are pleased to report that they are low when benchmarked against comparable office-based businesses our size. That said, we don’t rest on our laurels: we have an action plan in place to reduce our emissions further.

We know that businesses without diverse perspectives stagnate and professional development happens faster when we are encouraged to engage with multiple perspectives. We have a gender balance of 70% women and 30% men across the business (60% men, 40% women at leadership level). Culturally, we strive to ensure our people are a reflection of Aotearoa’s cultural makeup and we affirm our commitment to building a team that represents it.

We make choices that reflect our values and continue to find practical ways to do better by our people, our clients, and our planet.
